Old Colwyn business in finals for major business award
“Happy Hours is very ably filling a much needed niche in the child care
market” - is what the judges said after meeting Julie Williams of Happy Hours Childcare Services
based in Old Colwyn and hearing her talk about her business which is a North regional
finalist in the British Small Business Champions Awards 2007. The area includes
Wales,Northern Ireland, Scotland and north of England.Only 17 business from throughout
the entire North area have been selected as finalists.
Julie Williams' success has been achieved by recognising gaps in childcare services
and providing a service to fill them that meets the needs of parents and more importantly
the children. She started by offering babysitting facilities, then after school care,
then mobile creche facilities in rural areas and has now set up her own Mobile Creche Franchise
Company, offering her winning formula nationwide.
